Through their extensive touring schedule, I have had the privilege of having my orchestrations for Getty Music being heard across the world, including at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Schermerhorn Symphony Center (Nashville) and The Royal Albert Hall (London).
I have known Keith and Kristyn Getty since I was at high school in Northern Ireland. I remember introducing myself to Keith as a spotty teenager who wanted to play trumpet in his newly formed New Irish Choir and Orchestra. I did eventually play for the orchestra and shortly thereafter began writing arrangements for the group (some of my first paid arranging work). Since the turn of the 21st Century, I have been working for Keith, providing all the sheet music arrangements and music preparation for their tours and website, www.gettymusic.com
In the past couple of years, I have trained a small team of colleagues at Studio Orchestrations to work with me on the larger scope of their increasing catalogue of modern hymns. Their 2016 album “Facing a Task Unfinished” involved heading up a team of six arrangers and copyists, to complete a set of orchestrations to match the album tracks for the release of the album in June 2016. Everything from Chord Charts and Piano Vocal arrangements to SATB Choir and full Orchestrations were delivered as matching published products, able to be played and sung together.
Other printed songbook publications, where I have overseen the music setting and arrangements, have included: In Christ Alone, Songs That Jesus Said, Awaken the Dawn, JOY An Irish Christmas, Hymns for the Christian Life, Getty Kids Hymnal and Facing a Task Unfinished.
On a personal note, I have enormous respect for their passion and craft in producing quality hymns and songs for the Christian church across the world today and it is a privilege to join with them in their ministry.
